Meet The Founders
I was born in the small town of Apaseo El Alto, Guanajuato in Mexico. In order to provide more opportunities for me and my sister, my family moved to the U.S. in 2003. Moving to Orlando, Florida, was the catalyst for my involvement in Education. My freshman year at Evans, I became involved with the International Baccalaureate program; my time in the program has allowed me to fully appreciate the necessity of an education.
I will be attending Burnett Honors College at the University of Central Florida starting Fall 2015. My intended major is English Technical Communications with a minor in Computer Science, which I hope to utilize to promote and implement improvements in education. I intend on exposing students to the opportunities available to them through this website, mentoring, and other initiatives.
I am a jack of all trades, still searching for the one to master. My current goals include being a: writer, philanthropist, human rights activist, and UN Ambassador, whose focus is on providing equal educational opportunities worldwide. At some point, I also want to start my own scholarship funds, especially one reserved for at-risk high school students, and another for artists. One of my main non-educational goals is to fund art programs, as I view creativity as a skill that needs to be supported in order to flourish. I dabble in most of the arts, but I concentrate most on writing, painting and sketching. Some of my other hobbies include: reading, doing origami, watching k-dramas, listening to music, and being a pro scholarship-finder.
She, who others call a dreamer, calls herself the future's citizen. She will bring about positive progress by taking the initiative.
